Colwyn Bay town guide
Colwyn Bay, just along the North Wales coast from Llandudno, is packed with seaside amusements. The long sandy beach and shallow water is ideal for families with small children.
High above Colwyn Bay is the Welsh Mountain Zoo. Young and old alike will love this. The magnificent views down the Conwy valley make this a lovely place for a day out.
If you have a hire car, you will be able to drive further along the coast to Rhyl's Sun Centre with its tropical pool, or for exciting rides try Ocean Beach Amusement Park.
Down the nearby Conwy Valley, the National Trust gardens at Bodnant are fantastic in all seasons, but especially in the spring.
A trip into the Snowdonia National Park in your rental car is not to be missed. See Wales' highest mountain either by foot or by the Snowdon Mountain Railway. The Island of Anglesey is within an easy drive over the Menai Straits. See Holyhead and Holy Island, Beaumauris and its medieval castle, or Plas Newydd, a National Trust property with magnificent views over the Menai Straits.
