Harlington town guide
Harlington is located to the west of London, and very close to Heathrow Airport. So close to the airport, that the proposed third runway at Heathrow will affect the area greatly. Like many small communities today Harlington has been amalgamated with neighbouring Hayes to become Hayes and Harlington, a part of the London Borough of Hillingdon.
In spite of the proximity of Heathrow Airport it is possible to find a little calm oasis on the banks of the Grand Union Canal near Bulls Bridge. Indeed from here it would be possible to walk along the canal bank right through London and on into the countryside., not an option many people will take.
Whilst Harlington may not have the grand castles or other historic attractions that England is famous for, there are many such places within easy reach by hire car. Probably one of the most famous of all is Wndsor Castle. Which lies only a short distance from Heathrow Airport and is often sighted by airline passengers on thjeir approach to the airport.
