Meaux town guide
Visitors by hire car will find signs for Meaux from the Autoroute 4 and the route National 3 about 40 kilometres from Paris. This is a pretty but fairly non-descipt small town on the River Marne.
For the visitor the area provides a base with reasonably priced hotels and restaurants from which visits can easily be made to either Disneyland or Paris. It is still possible, after a hard day's sight seeing to either sit in a riverside restaurant or stroll on the riverbank. The village also has its own market, park, swimming pool and other recreational activities.
Children of all ages, including those in their second childhoods report that a visit to Disneyland is essential while in this area and the hotels and restaurants of Meaux and the surrounding villages are considerably cheaper and more "French" than those at the resort.
A favourite activity for the residents of Meaux is sitting in a riverside bar watching the passing boat traffic.
