Luneville town guide
I am sure that it has been said before but, you do not have to be mad to go there. Visitors by hire car will find this place to the North of Nancy on the route to Strasbourg. The town has some elegant buildings and is famous for a fine Chateau and its crystal and glassware. The Chateau is eighteenth century and owes its layout to the larger one at Versailles, it is sometimes called the Versailles of northern France. Originally the home of Louis XV's father in law, the deposed Staislav king of Poland, this chateau has been damaged by fire no less than six times. The last time was in 2003 and repairs have taken place.
It could be that your hire car party might be divided during a visit to Luneville because the other main attraction of the town is the Musee de la Moto et le Velo, the motorcycle and bicycle museum which might keep some of your party amused while the rest go shopping for Glass and stoneware!
Get back together afterwards and share experiences over a good meal, the food in this region has Germanic influence, the veal is good. The wines are white and fruity.
