Antibes town guide
Antibes
Car hire drivers will find Antibes on the Cote d'Azure west of Nice. Antibes is a stunning seaside resort with a reputation for being a Mecca for the beautiful people. It is said, mainly by the residents and trades people of this area, that when God made the World, he made this part of France for himself!
The coastal scenery is beautiful and the town itself has a French elegance which is rare in a seaside resort.
A day in Antibes should start with a leisurely breakfast, bread or croissant with jam, fruit juice and coffee, enjoyed in a pavement cafe. Then I suggest a stroll around the streets of the town, window shopping or even treating someone important in your life to something from one of the haute couture or designer emporia. While you are doing this check out the restaurants and choose a good place for a leisurely lunch, this should take a minimum of two hours.
In the afternoon possibly after a nap in your hotel, visit the castle and enjoy the Picasso exhibition before returning to your hotel to change into your best holiday clothes for dinner in one of the restaurants near the Old Harbour. Finish the day with another stroll where you can appreciate the passing scenery then, if you are young enough off to a club or disco or otherwise a quiet night cap in another cafe and so to bed.
