Annemasse town guide
This large town is close to Geneva and therefore the Swiss Border. Hire Car drivers heading for the Alps are right at the gateway to the mountains. There is a plethora of good hotels and restaurants in this place which also offers a wealth of tourist opportunities such as a trip to Mont Blanc which takes in three countries or various trips by helicopter from the airport.
Visitors who have spent time walking around the town might appreciate one of the twenty or so parks either to rest or possibly for a leisurely picnic. The Jardin d'Iris situated in the grounds of the Casino is one of the best, as its name suggests one can see over fifty varieties of Iris with a background view of the Alps and Mont Blanc. If you wish you can extend your walk through the garden to the side of the River Arve and continue along the river bank.
Art lovers should try the Claudius Montessuit park in the centre of the town which apart from all sorts of flowers in raised beds has a pond, a playground and is the site of the Villa du Parc which is a modern art gallery and centre.
This city of flowers is a lovely town either to visit for a day or for hire car users to use as a base for touring.
